Dear Mr. Ryan Roslansky,
Good morning, sir,
Unfortunately, it appears that some loopholes in the LinkedIn reporting system have been misused against some of the influential voices, some were on LinkedIn for over a decade now, and that was accompanied with slow or no responses from your support teams in handling the appeals.
The result was banning those voices out of the platform, or partially restricting them. Some were able later to regain access, even though they still face problems, while others were still banned for mysterious reasons. The list includes Magdalena Bartoszek, Khatija Banu, Mohammed Umair, Fadila Mouhoul, Greta Berlin, Noor Snobar, and many others. The list is too long to mention all of it here.
I truly think it is just a technical problem that needs to be addressed properly, and I urge you, sir, to do so immediately and lift all kinds of restrictions on these accounts and all other accounts that have been affected by that. Of course, taking proper measures to prevent that in the future for all users is ironically a mandatory expected bonus. :)
Again, I believe this is unintentional, but I do not know why I felt that it was important to remind you that intentional silencing for these voices will be some kind of an obstruction of justice, as some of them are believed to be working on collecting evidences about possible war crimes to report it to the International Criminal Court. Also, in this context, I think that the International Criminal Court investigators might find it interesting to inspect possible complicity in the on-going war crimes in Gaza by silencing who tries to expose the truth about these crimes and allowing them to be harassed! I do not think you would like to give them that chance. Would you?
Also, violating the freedom of speech as a basic human right and discriminating against them in favour of a certain political agenda might be another issue that can lead to more unpleasant legal consequences. Moreover, while I understand that people can become enthusiastic and cross some vague lines of the community standards unintentionally, but the reaction should be limited to the violating materials and be clarified in clear explanations and providing a proper mechanism to solve the issue. Banning the whole account without proper and clearly specified explanations mounts to be a deliberated silencing of these people.
Additionally, I understand your right to ask for a proof of identity, but this is limited to IDs, you are not entitled under any circumstances to make it obligatory to provide more personal info like income, address, place of birth or any other personal info which the person may choose not to provide to protect their own personal privacy/safety at any time.
Anyway, I hope that I did not make a mistake when I chose to believe that it is just a technical problem, and that you will kindly solve it all as soon as possible.
With respect,
A Simple Faithful User of Your Platform :)
